Opening post

Sacrificial lamb, he’ll be looked after.

Who wants to bet that even after our T20 place has been taken away - the SRC have caved after the old board have "promised" to be on their best behaviour from now on, so the old ZC board returns, Raza, Taylor and Jarvis retire....

Shambolic.

Troll level 1000. Obviously didn’t watch the World Cup Encore. Bangladesh are world class. Zimbabwe relies on their spinners as well eg their win against aus in zim was because they prepared a spinning wicket.
To be fair, the odds of BD winning a Test series in Zim are about as low as the odds of BD playing a Test series in Zim.
ZCF Hall of Famer
This is bitter gut wrenching news. b*****ds.
ZCF OriginalVeteran
Well. What did you expect? Is this not what some of you guys wanted if Mukuhlani didnt fold? All for nothing in the end.

Expect the SRC to miraculously lift the suspension 1 day or 2 days too late. They are the real b*****ds if they were never going to follow through anyway. Kicked us out of the world cup for no reason
ZCF OriginalLegend
Yes, because Bangladesh has no youth or grassroots structure. It's obvious that no other players will come after their current team.
ZCF OriginalVeteran
The worst part about this is that they obviously have inside sources and they were told that this was probably going to happen today. This is why there is now suddenly a deal. Now we have to go with our tails between our legs to beg the ICC to reconsider. All for what in the end?

This is not on Mukuhlani. As much as guys dont like him this is not on him. He didnt break the rules here. We all know who did
ICC were licking their lips when they deemed Zimbabwe SRC as government interference. They needed a scapegoat to make an example of, Zimbabwe fit the profile to the T. 1)Performing poorly 2) Drowning in debt 3)Nobody will care.

Pakistan Prime Minister appointed their board. Because it was the legendary Imran Khan who did it & ofcourse they have the biggest fan base along with India they bring ICC the $$$$$ so it was a no go.

Sri Lanka and Afghanistan same issue, can't have a former WC winning team suspended & Afghanistan are rising too fast to holt them.

We were to an extent the architects of our own demise. We won't recover for years to come. 🤞🏽 though.

Is it true that Bangladesh are funding ZC to make sure the tour next month goes ahead? If yes, then kudos to BCB.. Great to see them help ZC in these difficult times
ZCF Hall of Famer
Point of order!

He emphatically did. He requested the suspension in the first place. Right there he destroyed our cricket in one blow. Don’t blame anyone else for trying to stop this theft, you’re essentially condoning wholesale and petty thievery and mismanagement. Hindsight is easy.

But 15 years of musical chairs looting by these thieving racist c*^ts also played a major role.
ZCF Hall of Famer
Come on guys, this was expected. What else were you thinking. ICC have made it clear that the decision will be taken on OCT 12TH.

This is not the end of the world, lots of cricket in the coming year for Zimbabwe provided the suspension gets lifted. Also there is another T20 WC in 2021 and make it your priority to qualify for 2023 WC.

There is no proof of him requesting suspension. Well I havent seen it. If somebody can show me this then I will change my mind. The only proof I have seen so far is the SRC breaking the rules. Thats the hard truth. I dont get why this is so hard to acknowledge Googly.
ZCF OriginalVeteran
Are we also saying Mukuhlani is so powerful the ICC made their decision because he requested them to do so? Why would he matter so much? Lets not give him powers he doesnt have.

Even after all that you expected him to support his removal? I dont get it. As I have said. In this very particular instance he wasnt wrong and everybody who isnt biased knows it. This is just a taste of what that "let it burn" stance will get you. It only gets worse. Dont come and complain if the SRC now backtracks and gets us expelled
ZCF Hall of Famer
Guys as of now the first and foremost priority should be to get the suspension lifted, let the funding come back and then get the tours going.

The damage was already done when Zim got suspended, this was totally expected.

People really ought to put this Lady Chevrons issue into perspective, it’s being milked to death.

Once again ZC knew they needed to tick this box and they’ve done it in the most superficial and cheapest way possible, much like they do anything else. Once the 400 hangers on come back from their free holiday ladies cricket will be forgotten until next time the possibility exists of an all expenses paid excursion arises.

Exactly. Everybody empathises with them, to have put in any amount of time and worked towards a goal - no matter how unlikely - and then be deprived of the opportunity is an extremely unfortunate situation.

However, you can't let the tail wag the dog. Men's cricket subsidises women's cricket everywhere, it's just the reality of the situation. It's like the airplane safety message, you have to attend to your own mask before helping the kids. The singular focus has to be on saving the men's game, because if it dies everything else will too.

Very strange statement, so your idea to save the men's game is to get it banned from the ICC?

I meant don't rush into a bad deal because the women's tournament is coming up, that would be lunacy.

It would be like, instead of waiting until tomorrow you overpay $10,000 for a car today so that you can save $5 by driving to the all-you-can-eat buffet tonight.

I'd prefer to leave the analogies to Googly though, he's better at them than me :P

its all over for us.

@PeterDellaPenna

Huge news for T20 World Cup Qualifiers. ICC has officially slammed the door shut on Zimbabwe. Namibia takes their place in Scotland for Women's T20Q later this month. Nigeria will replace Zimbabwe at Men's T20Q in Ocptberin UAE. Huge 12 months for Nigeria with both men and U19s.
ZCF Hall of Famer
The ICC have behaved disgracefully throughout all of this. It's clear they have been looking for a reason to oust Zim. They didn't wait long at all to pull the trigger.

In light of this news, I just hope the SRC have not agreed to a stupid deal considering there is literally zero upside to having the old ZC board quickly reinstated now.

Judging by this post I suspect they have though :x : https://twitter.com/briangoredema/statu ... 4694421504

The lady Chevrons have been used to expedite the deal between the SRC&ZC suspended board. I hope after this the girls will be respected more and a women's cricket league will be formed as soon as possible. Otherwise we cant continue on the old path.
ZCF Hall of Famer
If the horse has bolted then SRC should just reimpose the ban again. ZC have had long enough to do what they’re told. Very occasionally in africa there are consequences to being a white collar criminal. No one to blame but the ZC, the players and the staff for this. You need a bit of spine occasionally.
