Opening post ยท Edited

Let's post all Zim cricket social media, YouTube channels and podcasts in this thread.

Feel free to add links that I missed:

Dean at Stumps - Dean is a great interviewer and incredibly knowledgeable about Zimbabwean cricket. He's had some great guests on his podcast as well.

Brighton Zhawi's TheThirdMan on YouTube - Some good interviews on here. Definitely worth subscribing to.

The Zimbabwe Cricket Podcast, X (Twitter) - Hosted by Aussies Josh and Jimmy. Definitely one of the best podcasts on the interwebs.

Larry Kwirirayi on X and 3-mob on YouTube - I don't know if Larry works for ZC, but follow him for all the latest news.

Zimbabwe Cricket on X (Twitter), Facebook, Website, YouTube - Official Zimbabwe Cricket pages.

National Premier League - Official NPL YouTube channel.

Zimbabwe schools cricket on Facebook - Best place to follow schools cricket.

Thanks all, useful detail. I was tracking Dean, he does great work. Can anyone explain the Australians doing a Podcast? Unsure what the link is...

You mean the Zimbabwe Cricket Podcast? As the name suggests, it's a podcast about Zimbabwe cricket hosted by 2 Aussies. It's really really good.

Yep I can. I'm without a doubt Zimbabwe crickets biggest supporter from Australia, 35 years old, seen Zimbabwe play multiple times, but gradually over a year after I saw them during the January/February 2001 in the Carlton & United Series between Aus vs Zim vs Wi and before you know it I was never missing so much as a micro second. By the time Zimbabwe toured Australia for the 2 Tests in October 2003 and then back here for the VB series in January/February 2004 between Australia-India-Zimbabwe. By then i was already well and truly crazy mad obsessed. 25+ year Zimbabwe cricket fan.

But I'll tell the main reason I believe is Australians love an underdog, people here in Australia and people visiting quickly find out, that as soon as an underdog is tipped to just be that, Aussies go all in on them, the disappointment is hard still, but when an underdog like Zimbabwe beats one of the bigger teams, that's a feeling that is stark raving mad.

I'm very rock n roll personally and Australians are quick to cut people or groups down when they get too big for their boots, it's called, "(The Tall Poppy Syndrome)". And plus we have a huge amount of Southern African Diaspora here in Australia particularly in Western Australia. Especially Zimbabweans.

If that answers your question or helps you out, then yeah ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป. My disappointment is they took my idea, I just didn't think anyone would gravitate towards it as much as people have.

Without tooting my own trumpet ๐ŸŽบ but toot toot. My knowledge of Zimbabwe Cricket is quite extensive and more than the just the average hardcore Zimbabwean supporter, I'm a numbers guy too. I honestly believe my ideas to improve certain aspects of cricket within Zimbabwe cricket would be quite helpful too.

Anyways hope this helps. Cheers mate world ๐ŸŒ ๐Ÿฆ˜

Here's a blast from the past: Gavin Ewing interview with Trevor Ncube.

He was a forum favourite back in the early 2010s.

Apparently, he's still carrying a bit of regret for being a part of the rebels.

He categorically is not employed by Zimbabwe Cricket. He is just a highly dedicated fan who is extremely passionate about the game. Much like myself. Coltart and Alistair Campbell and their paid racist Rhodesian foot soldiers like to push this narrative that certain black people are linked to Zimbabwe Cricket so they can scapegoat them when white players are not selected.

Unsure where to put this but stumbled on this the other day.

I too stumbled upon the article just the other day. Interesting perspective ๐Ÿ˜‚

As much I enjoyed the forum, I found some posters cringe. Patbee, for example, had this weird agenda against Sikandar Raza. TrainDriver, who I presumed was English, regularly logged in just to remind us Zimbabwe sucked at cricket, as if we had somehow missed it. Mueddie 28 on the other hand never seemed to make any sense at all.

๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ no lies detected.

Great thread. I'd also add ZimEye Sport and The Cricket Paper Zimbabwe if they're still active. Always good to have a few different sources, especially for domestic cricket and emerging players that don't get much coverage from the bigger outlets.
