Opening post

13. Zimbabwe's cricket is also becoming commercially ambitious
There's an interesting development in 2026.
ZC is involved with a proposed Zimbabwe T20 League, referred to as ZT20, intended to launch in October-November 2026.
The commercial project is designed as a professional franchise competition and is being developed with ZC and an external sports/media partner.
The proposal remains subject to approvals, venue availability, financing and definitive agreements.

October or November of this year is cutting it very fine.

Wasn't the Zim Afro T10 also announced? I reckon it never went past 3 seasons (max)
And there was also the stanbic bank T20 before that

Have to see how long this lasts

A competition scheduled to potentially take place in less than a month with no communication, media, teams etc...doesn't bode well at all.

Better not be another T10 crap where the teams aren't even teams based in Zim. In saying that, we did have a year where a British side won our T20 comp.

Not sure how many other T20 leagues are on in that October/November period, but surely November is cutting too fine to the BBL and such, so can't imagine we'd see much quality in this one.

Id like to think it be an actual T20 comp as opposed to t10. I believe the ICC had its AGM a couple years ago that did way with the t10 and taking it serious. Hence why Zimbabwe put the cobosh on theirs

That would be very typical Zimbabwe cricket.

Zim Afro vibes with has beens like Marlon Samuels and Peter Siddle. Ratios of 4 domestic players to 7 overseas players, our guys shunted to the bottom of the order 😂

Think there was only ever two Zim afros. 2022 was the pilot I guess, the domestic t10; Marumani performed and everyone wanted him to go to the 2022 t20 World Cup on the back of it. Zim Afro proper in 2023 and 2024 and was supposed to be in Bulawayo last year but didn’t happen.

Was a fixers’ tournament through and through 😂😂 can remember Blessing overstepping on a no ball by a good 12” and Carlos Brathwaite blocking out a maiden 😂 10% of the balls just blocked out by a guy who whacked Stokes all over at a World Cup.

From what I remember, the Stanbic Bank T20 was very well organised. They brought in the likes of Chris Gayle, Ryan ten Doeschate, Chris Harris and Brian Lara.

On topic, not sure if it's wise to organise a T20 competition on such short notice. Shouldn't they give themselves at least one year to prepare for the damn thing?

Dirk Viljoen stole all of the money and funnelled it through his friend Alistair Campbell’s blueberry farm.

There should be no place for this racism in an independent Zimbabwe.

He best better heed his own advice. Generally those that are critical of others on what they call racist, it's usually themselves they best look at. Take a leaf out of your own book . Also have you heard of confirmation bias, or selective hearing or reading or writing in whatever case. How ZC are aloud to get away with you at all on the board is a mystery. Even here in Australia you're not well liked. Always playing the victim. It must be exhausting for you, maybe a bit of actual work instead of trolling forums and social media might help you understand. Probably never done a hard day's work in your life.

Let me know when Zimbabwe is independent and not under the Zanoid dictatorship.
