I would say with the NPL t20 tournament starting in October. , maybe the Logan cup might be pushed back.

Hamilton Masakadza mentioned there was a potential Logan cup B fixture this year as well. I’m yet to find any further information on this.

Good idea!

Keen to find out if there are any decent U23 batsmen. We desperately need to groom batsmen.

I also hope they bring in pros from England. Especially batsmen. We used to get a number of those back in the day.

Since we are friendly with Pakistan these days maybe Babar Azam can show up for a game or two 😂

My under 23 to watch are:
Panashe Taruvinga
Ronak Patel

Wildcard would be Emmanuel Bawa if back from uni.

Debut
Jarrod Basson from rangers
Brendon Senzere from the under 19s

Here's whom I'm looking out for:
Taruvinga
Ronak Patel
Matt Campbell (not u23, but worth keeping an eye on)
Mike Frost
Tatenda Chimuguro
Hlabangana
Mazvitorera

For the debuts:
Brandon Senzere
Dhruv Patel (if he manages to)

Aside i hope we see those pakistan quicks from last season. Jalat Khan and Maaz Khan i reckon. They were by far the better bowlers. Wouldn't mind some foreign batters either

Alex Falao is another I would add and I don’t feel to far off A cricket.

Its great to see I'm not alone in thinking Jarrod Basson has a huge ceiling and could be ideal for Zimbabwe cricket, especially in the shortest format.

Shortest format?

Of all the batters to score consistently at HMCA or NPL level, he probably has the lowest strike rate. Good player, no doubt. Ideal for T20, I don't think so.

Might mean something and might not.

The mountaineers have been playing some practice matches.
No Frost’s or Welch’s, maybe the are on the move.

Scorecards can be found in the Manicaland section of Zim app.

That'll just be the Mutare based players, I would imagine. Surely no money in it, so I suspect the names you mention couldn't be bothered to drive East to play...
Yeah, that's probably the most likely explanation. If it's just local players getting a few practice games in, there's not much reason for guys based elsewhere to make the trip. Still, the absence of Frost and Welch is interesting enough to keep an eye on- could mean absolutely nothing, or could be a sign they're moving elsewhere.

Mavuta appears to be in New Zealand again, which is a shame.

Does playing club cricket in NZ pay more than the Logan Cup? If so, I understand his decision.

I would be surprised but I am basing this more off speculation than fact. I know the NZ national team don’t get paid as well as other countries.

Most clubs are really good at setting you up with work and things. Which potentially all up pays more.

Pretty sure we won't be seeing either Welch brothers this year. Think are are done in the short term.

A shame really.

I wonder how difficult it is to switch franchises. The Tuskers don't have much of a batting line up to speak of. Both Nick and Matt walk into that Tuskers top order easily. Matt may also get more opportunities with the gloves.

That will be a serious loss for the FC setup

The frustration with Zim Cricket is that this is all so secretive. There should be statements from the club, and any journalist worth their salt should get some statements from the players.

The secrecy invites conspiracy theories.
