Somehow we made it to the final.

Who do you have in your XI. Mine ⬇️

Curran
Marumani
Bennett
Taylor
Ervine
Raza
Wes
Evans
Newman/Masuku
Welly
Muzarabani

We need an explosive start because the run rate will drop when Rashid Khan comes into the attack.

The two best teams in the final so should be a good contest.

Khan lives rent free 😂 saw bro get whacked for 20 in an over in the hundred once, so it can be done. Sure he can turn it both ways but these Arabian decks are roads so he ain’t turning it square. Just get to the pitch of the ball or run down the track and whack him on the full 💁🏻‍♂️ easy

There’s a real irrational fear of spin from some of our guys 😂

We simply just need to get wickets early. I reckon Afghan has a longer tail then us or more of a chance to a collapse.

To go off-topic for a second, Bangladesh are a much better side than what we've seen in this tri-series. You reckon things will improve when Nahid Rana and Litton Das return?

I usually put streams in the Match Centre. Bottom right corner on your phone. Check the screenshots. On desktop, the Match Centre panel is on the right side of the page.

Here it is anyway: https://www.youtube.com/live/ge8ifWCVW7g?si=_2MJZJFacy7w4RZ6

Bennett hasn't scored a 50 in a while. He should move down the order.

He doesn't look convincing every time I see him.

Not an opener in odis, I'd say.
Still, typical that Curran had to get injured
And why is Raza obsessed about staying at 5? Shouldn't the thinking be that one needs an unc down at 7, to make sure the innings isn't blown away? Bring Wes up the order, hes always done fine at 5 ffs

I would've tried Wes at 5 today. Give him enough time to get in and build an innings.

How many times has Tsiga made it to double digits in international cricket? His career is starting to look like Maruma's. A gun in domestic cricket, but horrible in national colours.

Not in ODIs. Let me explain.

Bangladesh's peak ODI form was from 2015-2019. They had briefly reached 6th in the rankings and were qualitatively about as good as the current England ODI side. Since then, they've been on a steady decline coinciding with the gradual ending of the careers of our big 5 (Shakib, Tamim, Mushfiq, Riyad, and Mashrafee). Our performances in from 2019-2023 looks good on paper due to the Super League, but we mostly played against 2nd string sides during the Super League, which no one except for Bangladesh seemed to care about (death of ODI format). The lone exception was a 2-1 series win vs a full strength South Africa in SA in 2022. But in the recent past, we've lost multiple series to Zimbabwe, been whitewashed by the Windies and then also vs Afghanistan (albeit a very decent team, if not world beaters).

The return of Rana and Das will obviously strengthen the side, but the gap between Bangladesh and teams like Sri Lanka and Afghanistan (forget about Australia or India for the moment) is far too wide. Sri Lanka just chased 430 vs England, Bangladesh failed to chase 240 vs Zimbabwe a few months ago.

Bangladesh are as bad currently as they were before 2010.

Interesting.

Replacing Shakib, Mashrafe, Mahmudullah and Tamim was always going to hard. Shakib in particular. But, Mushy is still playing, why not bring him back for the world cup at least?
.
What about Hasan Mahmud? Is there any reason why he doesn't get picked for ODIs?
