best would be to tour Ireland or invite them in Zimbabwe for one test and five Odis.

We don't play Ireland enough .....

When it comes to India, better just take what we can get.

Meanwhile Pakistan has changed a lot of their upcoming schedule which doesn't seem to include Zimbabwe's tour as per FTP for late April. They're currently touring Bangladesh for ODIs, then they have PSL through April/May followed by returning to Bangladesh for 2 Tests in May and hosting Australia in June.

I wish it had of been an ODI but very much looking forward to this series.
Hoping both Zim and Nam are very competitive.

I was just wondering what the forum users on here, think about the Zimbabwe Cricket Board. Now personally I've never been there biggest fans at all. But I'm someone who will give credit where it's due. I think you could argue that Zimbabwe Cricket, on at least the side of Fixtures and agreements/arrangements 🤝🏻 with other board members to play each other in the near future or even distant future. I must commend them on getting Zimbabwe some really top class fixtures for the national teams of both men and women etc.
I don't believe everyone will be in agreement with me when I say this, but I think that the ZC board have really put an emphasis on playing Tests and stating they want inclusion in the World Test Championship 🏆.
Hopefully, but does seem to have dropped a little bit in terms of was a sure thing, to now it's been delayed to now a final decision will be made in November this year .🤞🏻 🙏🏻
It's really, really essential and necessary for Zimbabwe to perform well between now and November, So we can say we are climbing rankings, winning more, stability amongst squads, etc. I get the timing of the WTC really happened at literally the worst time for Zimbabwe cricket. When the first 3 or 4 initial concepts came in, in regards to the WTC, obviously Zimbabwe was included. So timing hasn't always being brilliant or so kind to us. But self inflicted. Lastly I don't know what Tavenga Mukhalanis relationship with the head of the ICC Jay Shah is, was, or has been, and is currently at the present. But he certainly is on a lot of different teams within the ICC structure and obviously has a vote of confidence. But regardless it could be that Jay Shah is testing him or even trying to smooth him and Zimbabwe cricket over due to co hosting the 2027 odi world cup. They have increased the amount of matches to up to 10 or 12 I heard which is impressive. But it's an absolute necessity we are apart of the WTC as of the next cycle. Firdose Moonda the Cricinfo Southern African commentator/journalist thinks or believes it's a certainty nearly, a guarantee would be nice or a promise, but will see, time will tell .

Zim will play a tri-series involving pakistan and Ireland in 2027. Also there is a possibility of a white ball tour of afghanistan before the WC.

I've also heard, as probably everyone else has, that a potential white ball series, just before the ODI WC at the new Victoria Falls venue. A 1 off Test probably a 4 day game they're trying to get, whether they do or not is another thing. Id certainly expect a white ball series to take place.

Not happening anymore. Zimbabwe withdrew from the series.

Looks like Australia want to come back for more ODIs before the World Cup.

This will be great.

I actually agree that ZC deserve some credit for the fixtures they've managed to secure. Whatever you think of the board, Zimbabwe are getting more regular cricket against some very good sides and the focus on Tests is definitely a positive. The WTC situation is the big one though. I'd love to see Zimbabwe included, but I don't think it should be treated as a reward for good relationships within the ICC or for hosting the 2027 World Cup. They need to show on the field that they can compete consistently over the next few months. If they can put together some good results and show there is a stable Test programme there, I'd be surprised if the ICC didn't find a way to include them. But until the decision is actually made, I'd be careful about calling it a certainty.

CA chief has stated that a 12 team WTC is very close. The issue should be finalized next month at the ICC meeting in Bali. If it expands to 12 teams, I would like to see each cycle composed of 8 series, instead of the current 6.

I have an extremely reliable source 🤔 wondering if I'll get in trouble, I'll find out, but the November meeting 🤝🏻 is when it's going to be announced that Zimbabwes wtc situation. And from cricket Australias chairman he said that it looks like that's the way we have to go. Also 😌🤫😉trust me Zimbabwe will be included even if Ireland and Afghanistan carn't afford it and are not too keen on it. But Zimbabwe has been pushing this agenda for a while now .
