Hello everybody!

If you are here, you probably found it strange to watch Zimbabwe play Bangladesh and not be able to post your preferred XI on ZCF.

zimcricketforums.com went dark some time in early June 2026. At first, I did not think too much of it. Then the morning of the Test arrived and I realised I could not post my XI, read another Googly rant, or laugh at secretzimbo and Pat_Bee having a go at each other.

I also realised I could not ask Kriterion_BD, sam_ahm, and the other Bangladesh supporters why Nahid Rana and Litton Das were not playing. I was genuinely looking forward to seeing Nahid Rana.

Watching a Zimbabwe match without ZCF felt wrong.

So I decided to try to revive the forum.

Thanks to the power of AI, I have managed to assemble something that resembles the old ZCF. This is the first version, so please do not expect perfection. The old posts still need to be recovered, the interface still needs polishing, and there will almost certainly be bugs.

But the important thing is this: we now have somewhere to talk cricket again.

A FEW THINGS TO TAKE NOTE OF

1. ANONYMITY

Part of what made ZCF special was that people could participate without revealing personal information.

That will remain the case here.

You will not be asked to reveal your real name or any unnecessary personal details. Your email address is required only for account activation, password resets, and basic account security. Publicly, you are your username.

2. LEGACY ZCF USERNAMES

Original ZCF members can claim their old usernames.

To do this, enter your old ZCF username in the “Preferred Username” field when registering.

If that username belongs to a legacy ZCF member, it will be treated as reserved. You will be assigned a temporary username while your claim is reviewed manually.

I was on ZCF from around 2010, so I have a fairly good memory of many users’ posting styles. It should be easy to tell ZIMDOGGY from Mueddie28 apart. In most cases, a few posts should be enough to help verify a claim.

Once approved, your old username will be restored and your account will show a ZCF Original badge.

3. NEW FORUM MEMBERS

If you were never a member of the old ZCF, welcome.

You do not need to have been part of the old forum to join. Whether you watched from the shadows, arrived through Google, support Zimbabwe, support Bangladesh, or simply enjoy cricket discussion with a bit of personality, you are welcome here.

4. THE USER INTERFACE IS STILL UNDERCOOKED

This whole thing was assembled very quickly, so some things may not work perfectly yet.

Features will be added. Bugs will be fixed. The design will improve. For now, the priority was simple: make sure people can register, post, reply, quote, and talk cricket again.

5. RECOVERY OF OLD POSTS

I am working on recovering old ZCF posts from archived snapshots of the forum.

This will take time. Some threads may be recoverable. Some may be missing forever. The recovery process is not perfect, but it is possible to bring back at least part of the old archive.

Recovered threads will be treated as historical material and credited to the original usernames wherever possible.

6. LEGAL STUFF

I do not claim ownership of the old ZCF or its historical material.

This is an independent community revival project created because the old forum disappeared and people still need somewhere to talk Zimbabwe cricket.

If the rightful owner of the original forum, or an original author, raises a legitimate concern about recovered material, I will review it and act responsibly.

7. I AM NOT BEING PAID TO DO THIS

I am doing this because watching a Zimbabwe match without ZCF feels wrong.

If the forum gains momentum and enough people return, I will continue improving it and may eventually move it to a standalone domain.

If it remains small, that is fine too. At least we gave the old place a fighting chance before surrendering ourselves completely to X threads and Facebook perhaps.

HOW TO GET STARTED

1. Click “Register”.
2. Enter your email address, preferred username, password, and location if you want to.
3. Click Save.
4. Check your email for an activation message from [email protected].
5. If you do not see it, check your spam folder.
6. Click the activation link.
7. Come back and introduce yourself in this thread.

* You can only log in with your old ZCF username after your claim gets approved. Before approval user your registered email address.

If you requested a reserved legacy username, please be patient while your claim is reviewed manually.

Also note that the first few posts from new members may need to be approved manually. This is just to keep spam away while the forum is still new.

Welcome back!

Hello all. One of the ZCF original here, however says I can't claim my old account as the name is already in use. Weird. My evidence is that Eddo Brandes holding a beer saluting the crowd after the England ODI win was my avatar pic. Based in Australia and exited to reconnect with all of you.

Welcome back to the forum mate!

Your username zimbos_05 hasn't been claimed yet. Click "Reclaim Username" and fill in the form. Make sure you enter your old username with an underscore. Don't worry about filling the evidence field.

G'Day fellas,

Jemisi back for the third innings

Not sure of my proof of identity but maybe shoot me a couple of stats quiz questions or pull up my appearances in the ZCF XI middle order.

Thanks Eugene for the link and admin for the effort

Welcome back Jemisi!

I have reinstated your old username.

Kriterion here...didn't realize I could have resurrected the old screen name...I've now dropped the 'BD' but everyone will recognize me so no big deal.

Many thanks to the admin for recreating the forum and even digging up some old threads/posts. Top class stuff. Thanks also to eugene for reaching out and forwarding the link. There was another forum or subforum setup that jaybro told me about with a few of the OGs but looks like this will be ZCF 2.0 here. Maybe we could nickname the forum ZCF 2nd Innings haha.

Looking forward to resuming the lively banter here!

Good to have you back Kriterion!

Your old username is always available if you want it reinstated. If you want a fresh start, that's ok too.

Enjoy your second innings!

Done. Didn't realise I had an underscore in my old name. Evidence field had to be filled as it wouldn't let me submit without putting in soemthing.
Hello all!
Longtime ZCF lurker here.
I have been compelled to sign up to the resurrected forum as I was gutted to discover the original forum had died. I wanted to give my support to the new forum.
Cricket tragic. Half English/Irish and fans of both teams. Been fascinated with Zimbabwean cricket for quite a while. Never quite managed to work out why. Probably due to Zimbabwean cricket’s refusal to die despite all of the many disadvantages it has faced over the years. The original forum was a great resource and gave fascinating insights into the machinations of Zimbabwean cricket.

Good luck with the new forum. Fingers crossed all of the old characters come back.

Some good work 😂 I don’t know how to reclaim my old name. Razdawg, Lady Chevrons and that phase of sledging Kriterion about some call girl in Dhaka called Monira Khatun if you need evidence 😂😂

Hello to everyone. I guess any past/current/future members
who read this, this is my introduction. My name isThomas/Tom
35 years of age, and being a Zimbabwe Cricket obsessive.
I loved an underdog, anyone the forum here who is Aussie,
or has knowledge of Australia, will know that we have a soft
spot for "The Underdog". So I can tell you all, it started during
the annual Tri-Series that would finish off the Aussies season.
So beginning back in January/February 2001. The Tri-Series
that was played, was called, The Carlton & United Series. The
as mentioned was the Tri-Series was played between 3 nations
and the 2001 series was played between Aus-Windies-Zim.
Following that last game particularly in Perth 2001 where the
Aussies beat Zimbabwe by 1 run, was the game that helped
create it all for me. There were several matches played over
that 2001 tri-series where it sort of had an affect or something
where I could tell even at a young age of 10 in 2001, that I had
a real appreciation for Zimbabwe. There was a match early on
in the series played at the SCG. It was between Zim vs Windies
and Heath Streak had batted well already and kept Zimbabwe
in the game to somehow manage a below average score of
around 140-150. Streak came in and destroyed the Windies
batting line-up. Heath Streak had taken 4-8. Essentially it's the
2 matches mostly that I mentioned, where my memory is quite
clear and precise, at least in regards to 2 significant moments
where as Zimbabwe stood out for me as a National Team to
follow through Cricinfo back then.

Look I'll be honest I could've written/typed out a really long and
a lot less rushed and clearer picture of how this all started for
me personally, and later on what I still believe to a degree,, that
I very well could be Australia's biggest Zimbabwe Cricket fan.
Lastly i'd like to apologise again, for typing out such a long and
to be honest a long introduction, just to introduce myself. I'm
certainly aware, that I know that i didn't give myself the best
and more clearer & certainly a much more detailed description
on how it all started for me. I suppose the fundamental basics
are noted down, & I doubt that to many people will get through
this particular introduction of myself.

I'll shut up now
Just call me my name which is Thomas or Tom.
Thankyou for reopening the platform so I could help
continue my information on Zimbabwe Cricket, from the Fans,
the people's different perspectives on whatever subject was
being talked about and disgust vigorously.

Cheers
From Tom

Great to have you on board Tom!

Stuart Carlisle and Grant Flower batted well in that 303 game didn't they? Shame Zim didn't get over the line.

And Streaky 4 for 8 against West Indies highlights here for anyone interested.

Hello lads

Zayn here. My username was Zayn_63 on the previous forum and the process is kinda complicated so I signed up with a new email and username on this forum. Sad that the old forum doesnt work now, we had some good conversations there. I found this one yesterday while looking if the old forum might just start working.

A big thanks to admin for trying to create something similar.

Cheers Zayn! Good to have you on the new ZCF.

Thanks for the feedback on the sign up process. I thought it was straightforward probably because I'm a computer guy.

I have approved your original username Zayn_63. Try logging in with it and if it works, I will deactivate Zayn_36.

I will try to simplify the sign up process.

Hi Lostart here, been on and off the forum over the years. Moved over to Ireland several years ago and lost track a bit. But glad to have a new forum to check in and get a valuable insight into whats happening with ZC. Some thing have improved out of sight and some have remained the same in ZC.

Happy to have a place to lurk and occasionally post again
